EAST LANSING, Mich. — An issue near the MSU clinical center has been resolved.
Around 8:50 a.m. Consumers Energy received a call from a service crew. Workers were digging and hit a gas line in the 800 block of Service Road and sent a crew out immediately.
Upon arrival, it was determined that an underground gas line was damaged and squeezed off at 10 AM. They also detected the smell of gas in the Clinical Center building on MSU's campus.
As a precaution, the building was evacuated. About 50-75 people were sheltered during the evac.
Consumers said the repair work would take a couple of hours.
Just before 10:30 a.m. MSU Police told News 10 that the issue near the center had been resolved and people were allowed back into the building.
