In honor of Black History Month, several state leaders are re-enacting the Detroit Freedom March at the State Capitol Tuesday, at 11 a.m.
The 1963 march on Woodward Avenue in Detroit was the largest civil rights demonstration in the nation’s history at the time.
Nearly a quarter million people attended.
