The goal is to encourage people to make neighborhoods safer by encouraging them to turn on front porch lights in an effort to improve safety and reduce crime.

Lightbulbs will be distributed on various dates throughout the summer. Volunteers will meet on each date at 5:30 p.m. before beginning to walk the neighborhoods at 6 p.m.

The meetings will happen on the following dates and locations:

  • June 27: Salvation Army, 806 E. Pearl St.
  • July 11: Habitat for Humanity, 251 Prospect St.
  • July 25: Interfaith Shelter, 414 S. Blackstone St.
  • Aug. 1: New Village Hope Church, 123 W. Porter St.
  • Aug. 8: Bennett Elementary School, 820 Bennett St.
