Harbor Bay Real Estate Advisors and Foster Coffee Company are excited to announce that Foster Coffee will become the first tenant along Albert Avenue in the Center City District Development.
The Center City District Development is a $125 million multi-generational, mixed-use development that includes the Landmark on Grand River, Newman Lofts, Target, public parking, and 24,000 SF of retail along Albert Avenue. Foster Coffee will be located adjacent to the main entrance of Newman Lofts and within feet of the main pedestrian corridor to East Lansing's Downtown Target.
Newman Lofts are luxury apartments, designed by an internationally renowned architect for adults 55 years and older who desire a walkable downtown living that matches their active lifestyles.
"With the premier unrivaled residential experience of Newman Lofts, we knew we had to find the right partner to greet our residents each morning, said Mark Bell, President & CEO of Harbor Real Estate Advisors. "We knew from the onset that Foster Coffee would provide the experience and coffee that our tenants and community members would enjoy."
Founded in 2014 by Nicholas Pidek and Jonathan Moore in Owosso, Michigan, Foster Coffee is a homegrown Michigan company that thrives through fostering better and more vibrant communities. Through partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and civic entities, Foster Coffee has implemented their mission of building community in downtown Owosso and downtown Flint and is excited start their next venture in East Lansing in 2019. Whether it's a children's story hour, hosting local creatives for conversation or a fun trivia night, Foster Coffee strives to facilitate and foster opportunities for community in the greater Lansing area.
Harbor Bay has seen the impact Foster has already had and knew it would be great fit. "Given out A+ location, we had a flurry of activity from national coffee shops. However, in our research, we knew this community desired a Michigan-based craft coffee company," said Bell. "As a result, we underwent an extensive search, together with interviews, in order to identify the perfect fit. Foster Coffee exceeded out expectations. Their concept, product, integrity and overwhelming commitment to community sold us Foster Coffee."
"Our mission goes beyond craft coffee," said Pidek. "We strive to create a collaborative environment for the community through building relationships, listening to the people, and partnering with organizations and businesses to make a collective positive impact. We look for people and projects, like Center City with Harbor Bay, that reflect the spirit of collaboration with opportunities to continue transforming the city.
Newman Lofts and Landmark on Grand River are both on schedule to be open by August 2019 with Foster Coffee opening late summer.
