Former Carolina Panthers football player Rae Carruth is expected to be freed from a North Carolina prison.
Carruth spent 18 years behind bars for conspiring to murder his pregnant girlfriend.
He is expected to be released from the Sampson Correctional Facility in Clinton sometime after 8 a.m. on Monday.
He was convicted of plotting to kill his pregnant girl friend, Cherica Adams, in 1999.
Adams died in the hospital a month later and their son survived, but he has cerebral palsy.
