Former NFL football player Ryan Leaf shared his story of recovery in Lansing Tuesday.
The one-time Heisman Trophy candidate spoke in front of a packed room at Peckham Incorporated.
Leaf was the star quarterback at Washington State and was picked second in the 1998 NFL draft.
But his pro-career went downhill fast, in part because of a painkiller dependency.
For anyone struggling with addiction, Leaf says the first step to recovery is asking for help.
Leaf now travels the country as an author and a motivational speaker, sharing his story of recovery.
