Former Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings sentenced to probation, one year in jail

Former Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III has been sentenced to probation, and one year in Ingham County Jail by Judge Joseph Farah. He is to turn himself in on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

Dunnings was arrested on March 14, 2016 on 15 criminal charges in Ingham, Clinton, and Ionia counties. The charges related to prostitution, pandering, and willful neglect of duty.

Investigators said that Dunnings paid for sex hundreds of times with different women, between 2010 and 2015.

After being charged, Dunnings entered a residential facility in Tennessee for inpatient treatment of a sex addiction at the end of March. He resigned from office on March 29, 2016, but the resignation did not take effect until July.

Dunnings pleaded guilty in August of 2016 to engaging the services of a prostitute and misconduct of a public official - a felony and a misdemeanor. The charges carried a maximum sentence of five years.
