Duane William Millar, 60, of East Lansing was sentenced to seven years in federal prison. Millar was a former teacher with the Howell Public School District, he pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography last year.
Millar will serve seven years in prison, and after that time will be on supervised release. He was also ordered to contribute $5,000 to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act Fund that provides financial support for victims of child pornography, sex trafficking, and child sexual abuse. He will also be registered as a sexual offender.
The case is a result of an investigation by the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MSP ICAC), working in conjunction with HSI.
