The former president of USA Gymnastics charged with tampering with evidence in the Larry Nassar investigation is out of jail.
Records show Steve Penny posted bond and was released from the Sevier County Jail Friday. WATE reports the bond amount was $50,000 dollars.
Penny was arrested last week by a team of U.S. Marshals at a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Penny's arrest came after a Texas grand jury indicted him in late September, alleging he tampered with evidence in the Nassar investigation.
The indictment alleges Penny ordered the removal of documents from the Karolyi Ranch relating to Nassar's activities at the ranch, near Huntsville, Texas.
Penny resigned from USA Gymnastics under pressure in 2017.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
