LANSING, Mich. — The former dean of Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine is scheduled to be sentenced in court Wednesday.
A jury convicted William Strampel of misconduct in office and neglect of duty back in July.
Jurors acquitted him of a more serious charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Prosecutors said Strampel abused his power to take advantage of female students.
Strampel's trial lasted more than a week.
Strampel is not the only former MSU staff member to be in court Wednesday, former MSU Gymnastics Coach Kathie Klages will also be in court.
Klages will be asking a judge to dismiss the case against her. She's charged with lying to police in the Larry Nassar investigation.
She will be in court for her hearing an the Strampel sentencing.
