Ford Motor Company has created a shock absorber system that automatically stiffens when sensors detect a pothole.
It works by allowing the vehicle's wheel to remain up instead of dropping into the hole.
The feature will be offered in the 2017 Ford Fusion Sports Sedan. Ford's Lincoln MKZ already has a similar technology.
