The Ford Escape has failed the latest round of crash tests.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says the Escape did not protect a front-seat passenger well enough.
The test simulates a crash into a pole or another car.
The Escape got a poor rating because the side air bags didn't deploy and the cabin was crushed.
Ford says the Escape has done well in all other government and insurance institute tests.
