The Ionia County Sheriff's office responded to an accident on Wednesday morning that was most likely caused by fog.

It happened around 6:58 a.m. at the intersection of Jordan Lake Rd. and W. Clarksville Rd. in Odessa Township.

Police determined that a car driven by a 19-year-old woman from Ionia Co. ran a stop sign and collided with the side of a pick up truck.

The truck was heading northbound and was driven by a 53-year-old man from Barry County.

The collision caused the pickup to roll multiple times. Items from inside the truck became embedded into the side of a nearby residence.

The driver of the car was sent to a hospital in Grand Rapids with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say both drivers had on seat belts and that alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. They think dense fog in the area played a role in the accident.
