With the weather moving in, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a flood watch until Saturday morning.

The affected areas include South Central Michigan and Southwest Michigan, including the counties: Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia and Jackson, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren.

The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms expected tonight, with the thunderstorms being capable of producing very heavy rainfall. Rainfall in excess of an inch is possible, which may lead to flooding of low lying areas and roadways, the report says.
