Flint Mayor, calls for more help

Posted

Flint's Mayor Karen Weaver is calling on the state of Michigan to dip into its' "rainy day fund" to help fix the water crisis.

She was interviewed on CNN Monday morning. Weaver argues this was not a "man-made" disaster and that "only the state" should have to pay.

The Mayor said, "the citizens in Flint had nothing to do with this decision to switch to the Flint River and not have it treated, but we're suffering the consequences and at some point we need people to just step up and recognize that we're American citizens and we should not have to live like this, our kids and our families have been poisoned and we need to be responsible for that".
