The former Detroit mayor is weighing in on the Flint crisis.

A letter, supposedly sent from Kwame Kilpatrick in prison, is now being shared on social media.

In the letter, Kilpatrick allegedly accuses governor Snyder of misleading the public.

He says Detroit tried to set up a water deal with Flint in 2006, but the deal was rejected.

He claims Snyder was well aware of what was going on with Flint's water. He wondered how much time Snyder would get for poisoning people.

Kwame's attorney says he doesn't know if Kwame wrote the letter, but longtime friends say he did.

Kilpatrick is serving a 28-year prison sentence after he was convicted on racketeering charges.
