An investigation is underway in Concord to find the person or persons who flattened the tires of the district's school buses.
Superintendent Dan Funston tells FOX 47 News, the flattened tires were discovered around 5:45 a.m. this morning on the first day of school. He says at least one tire on each bus in the district's fleet was deflated.
Funston believes someone let the air out of the tires- he says some of the tires came off the rim and there was no way the district could repair all the buses in time to get students picked up for the first day.
The superintendent says there wasn't surveillance cameras at the bus garage but after this incident, the district will be installing cameras. The Jackson County Sheriff's office is investigating. Funston says the district is looking aggressively for the person or persons who flattened the tires. The buses will be fixed today and Concord students will have a full day of school tomorrow.
