We have an update of the fire at Meijer on Saturday night.
The Delta Township Fire Chief says flames got to the wiring system for the alarm, which is why they never went off when an area of the store caught fire.
The cause is still under investigation but the chief says it started in the store room area.
Black smoke filled the grocery store side, which took crews about 3 hours to clear.
The chief credited fast thinking employees who called 911 and helped evacuate the store.
About 200 people were inside at the time, but no one was hurt.
