LANSING, Mich. — Sunday was a perfect day for football.

Flag football teams went head-to-head for the 10th annual Battlefield Brawl.

The nonprofit New World Flood, founded by Todd "T.J." Duckett, uses the event to raise money for local charities.

Even some former Michigan State Spartans came out to join in the fun.

"That's what Michigan State's about," said former Spartan Darien Harris. "That's what we learned from all the years. We come from two different Spartan generations but the message was always the same for us and it was 'never forget where you came from' and always give back to your community in anyway possible so for us, it's a no-brainer to be out here."

New World Flood is donating $1,000 to the winning team's nonprofit of choice.
