First-graders given ePIFanyNow Award

LANSING, Mich. — First-graders at Lansing Christian School were given an award Monday.

The ePIFanyNow Y-PIF (Youth Paying if Forward) Award was given to the children for their work with the non-profit organization Weekend Survival Kits.

The award honors youth who are passing kindness forward and making a difference in their communities. Award recipients are nominated and then selected by vote on the ePIFanyNow website.

Each vote costs $1 and all of the money raised is donated to the nominee's project along in addition to a $500 prize. In total $780 will be awarded to the Weekend Survival Kits and the first-graders will also receive $500 from ePIFanyNow to use for a future service project

First-graders at Lansing Christian Schools wanted to help fellow students in their community by volunteering at Weekend Survival Kits to help make sure that young people in the Greater Lansing area would have access to food over the weekend.

Bob Hoffman, founder of ePIFanyNow presented the award to the first-graders at 12:30 Monday in the Media Center at Lansing Christian School located on 3405 Belle Chase Way.
