The flames broke out at Chase Bar in downtown Jackson, located at the intersection of East Michigan Ave. and Mechanic St., just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
Firefighters say it started in a cooler near the back of the bar.
An apartment complex next door to the bar was evacuated.
Residents were let back in around midnight.
Four different fire departments responded to the blaze.
No one was injured in the fire, but there was significant damage to the bar.
The owner of the bar says they could be closed for weeks to a month.
