BLACKMAN TWP., Mich. (WSYM) - A fire destroyed a home near Jackson leaving a family homeless and killing their five pets.
It happened in the 3700 block of Parnall Road in Blackman Township Friday night.
One of the homeowners told firefighters he pulled up to his house around 8 p.m., heard a crash, and saw flames coming from the kitchen.
Investigators are trying to figure out the cause of the fire.
The family's two dogs, bunny and two cats died in the fire. The couple and their five children between the ages of 2-9 are now being helped by the Red Cross.
