The fire at John Crowley, Inc. in Jackson is out. No one was hurt.
Firefighters tell us that rubber lining of a kiln caught fire. Workers tried to use a fire extinguisher, but that did not work.
Firefighters say there were at least 5 workers in the building at the time.
Firefighter said they were able to put the fire out quickly.
Northbound Cooper Street near Biddle Street was closed for a time, but all roads are now open.

Crews from four fire departments are fighting a fire at a steel fabrication facility in Jackson.
Rubber is burning inside the John Crowley Incorporated plant in the 700 block of South Cooper Street. The fire was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m.
Jackson firefighters are being joined by crews from Blackman Township, Summit Township and Spring Arbor.
There are no reports of any injuries now, or estimate on the extent of damage.
