The federal lawsuits against Larry Nassar, Michigan State University, USA Gymnastics and others will be going to mediation.
Talks are scheduled to start in 14 days and could last 90 days with the potential for an extension if necessary. The idea is to reach a settlement without having to go to trial. Any party can withdraw from the talks at any time.
More than 100 women claim Nassar sexually assaulted them during medical exams when he worked for Michigan State and USA Gymnastics.
Nassar is facing criminal trials in Ingham and Eaton Counties. He has already pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges.
