There is new online car scam that the FBI and Edmunds.com is warning buyers about.
The scam allows crooks to sell people cars that they actually do not own.
The scam involves scammer's asking buyers to make a down payment on a car through a wiring service to a phony escrow account.
After that, buyers never hear from the thieves again.
Experts say that if someone is trying to sell you a car online and only wants to talk through email that it is most likely a scam.
