Father & Daughters Work to Promote Sexual Assault Education

LANSING, Mich. — As a father of two Christopher McLain was shocked to learn that his daughters, (who are now teens) had been sexually abused when they were 8 years, but they had covered it up. He learned about this from a social media message between one of his daughters and her her boyfriend. This was the first time that he realized anything was wrong, but it started a path that led him and his daughters to a new effort that they are starting today.

While his daughters did bring the person to court, the case was not successful, however, it did motivate McLain and his daughters to take on this issue directly.

McLain is calling for a 50% decrease in child sexual assault cases by pushing the Michigan Legislature to enact new legislation mandating sexual assault education starting in Kindergarten.
