One person is dead after an Amtrak train hit their vehicle.
It happened at the Willis Road crossing in Grass Lake Township on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 just before 1:00 PM.
Four Amtrak workers were in the area at the time of the crash, they witnessed the crash, and say the crossing signals were working at the time of the crash.
Police tell us a preliminary investigation shows the driver "ignored" the warnings, and tried to cross the tracks.
No one else was in the car and no one on the train was hurt.
Police are investigating the accident. Police have not released the identity of the driver, until they notify family members.
