The Filas family is searching for two service dogs that help their autistic daughter after they got out of their yard on Monday.
The family has spent hours searching for the dogs every day and posted online asking for help. The dogs are important for helping their daughter with her autism and her allergies.
"They help calm her down whether it's feeding them, taking them outside to go potty or walking them. It keeps her anxiety under control and with the allergies they know to alert us if she can't breathe or if she's having an allergic reaction," said Dusti Filas.
Filas has taken her daughter Aubree out for the search as well in hopes of finding the dogs.
"I've taken Aubree out to drive with me, kind of rolled down the window and had her yell for the dogs. I was hoping maybe just the sounds of her would draw them in or her scent," said Filas.
Not having the dogs has been difficult for Aubree and Filas is worried that they won't come back. "She doesn't want to go to bed. She wants to look for her dogs. She wants her dogs home."
Another woman has offered to give the Filas family one of her service dogs but the family is hoping to get their own dogs back.
Filas says training service dogs is an extensive process and the dogs have to be worked with several times every day.
The family hopes that if anyone spots the dogs they will be returned.
