Families of Kalamazoo victims respond

Grieving family members of people were who wounded or killed in a series of shootings in Kalamazoo on Saturday, February 20, 2016 have begun to make statements responding to the events.

The parents of a critically injured 14-year-old woman who was shot in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel restaurant with other members of her family released a statement thanking the community for their support. They asked members of the media and their community to keep her identity private by not sharing her name or photos on social media or in public. They said her prognosis remains uncertain as she continues to fight for her life.

The wife and mother of a man and his son who were killed at a car dealership in Kalamazoo posted several tributes to her late husband and son.
