Families, justices and judges celebrate family reunification in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. — Thursday was Michigan's Family Reunification Day and families, judges and justices from around the area celebrated reunifying foster children with their families.

The celebration was held to promote the value of reunification of foster children with their families and to spotlight the many professionals who make it their duty to ensure children are returned safely to their families.

Michigan is one of 27 states to hold Reunification Day events. Michigan's Reunification Day is part of the American Bar Association's annual Reunification Month.
