Tara Kollar of Grand Ledge, happened to glance down at her Facebook App and noticed her mentor, her former High School Choir Director, had just "checked in" his location, not far from her.

It had been years since she had seen the man she calls her mentor.

She quickly headed to Holt High School where Bernard Hyland was judging a state wide choir competition.

She was able to spend just a few minutes with the man she says inspired her career as a music teacher.

“ He shaped my career choice, I ended up going and getting a degree in vocal education and piano, and ended up teaching middle school choir for six years, “ Tara says.

Their selfie was posted on Facebook...that photo was seen by yet another former student who also happened to be a few miles away.

Both reunions, after 30 years, because of a Facebook find.

Their reunion now sparking a Facebook Group page entirely devoted to their former choir teacher.
