After being laid off from his job as a cook, East Lansing native Aaron Mahoney was left with time, and the desire to help others. That's why he became a Red Cross volunteer.
In October Mahoney was sent to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane relief, he was there for over 100 days. He says the experience of helping others will stick with him for many years.
