An exhibition on the work of 92-year-old Detroit artist Charles McGee is scheduled to open at a pop-up site downtown.
McGee's "Still Searching" is presented by the Library Street Collective and is expected to run through July 1. An artist's reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at 1505 Woodward Avenue.
McGee has lived in Detroit since he was 10. His "Still Searching" traces the artist's 70-year career and features works that chronicle the black experience and his love of nature.
The Library Street Collective says some of McGee's works are on display at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
The Collective is based in downtown Detroit and presents group and solo exhibitions.
