LANSING, Mich. — A former Lansing school teacher has been arrested in Florida for a disturbing case of alleged child pornography.

Audra Mabel, 24, was arrested in Seminole County on a production and distribution of child pornography charge.

She was a kindergarten teacher in the Seminole area but used to teach first grade at Lyons Elementary in Lansing in 2017.

The charges stem from an investigation in Florida where a man was arrested for allegations that he sexually abused his daughter.

After investigating the man, identified only as S.R., police found video on his phone that they say included video from Mabel that she sent him when she lived in the Lansing area.

Police confirm Mable and S.R. once dated.

Investigators say they found video on S.R.'s phone of Mabel allegedly sexually abusing her 1-year-old son.

The report also says they found an explicit video produced inside the Lansing classroom where she taught. Mable allegedly used her iPhone to record video underneath her skirt then focused on students in her classroom.

Mabel told police she sent the videos to her ex-boyfriend over the internet where he lived in Florida.

She moved to Florida in 2018.

She said the two were no longer dating because he refused to leave his wife.

Mable remains in federal custody at this time.

FOX 47 News will continue to follow this story as it develops.

We did reach out to Lansing School District. The district spokesperson, Robert Kolt, responded by saying Mabel had been hired on as a replacement teacher in November 2016. She left the district after the 2016-17 school year.

Kolt also said she had a clean background and there was no record of disciplinary action while she was at the district.
