"Releasing the Stigma" is the theme on Michigan State University's campus during Mental Health Awareness Week.
The week-long initiative kicked off Monday at the rock on Farm Lane.
The MSU student government is hoping the campaign will educate students about resources avilable to them on campus. Student organizers say part of reducing the stigma is coming together as a community.
Mario Kakos, Engagement Coordinator for ASMSU, said, "We don't want people to feel ashamed or embarrassed that they are going through something because life is hard, life is tough, we all need to be here together as Spartans, helping each other out."
Other events planned, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week include: relaxing under the planetarium, Therapy Dog Thursday, and yoga.
