Presentations on automated transportation technology are expected to be presented at the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments' transportation summit.

The event will be held April 25 at the Westin hotel in Southfield.

A panel discussion will explore how advances in automated transportation technology will impact careers, education and workforce training, land use planning, and the retail environment.

State Transportation Director Kirk Steudle and Richard Wallace of the Center for Automotive Research are among the scheduled speakers.

The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments supports coordinated local planning with technical, data and intergovernmental resources.
