Enroll For The LCC Youth Spring Semester Today!

LANSING, Mich. — The LCC Youth Program has classes available for enrollment for our Spring 2019 Semester! This semester is four weeks long and are on Saturdays, starting February 16^th until March 9^th. Enroll soon to ensure your student gets a seat. If you sign up at least a 30+ days before our classes start, you get an “early bird” discount of $10!

Advanced Robotics (A+) 6^th-9^th Grade

Are you ready for the next step in robotics? Programming-minded students will build and program a robot using Vex IQ Robotics equipment. Students will be exposed to mechanics, electronics, computer programming and engineering.

Advanced Science Experiments (GATE) 5^th-6^th Grade

If you like hands-on science experiments - mixing chemicals, bubbling liquids, lighting metal on fire - then this advanced class, taught by a chemist, is for you! We will also have Live Time each day with a live MI animal lesson.

Battling Robots, Jr. (A+) 4^th-5^th Grade
Think you can create the undefeated battlebot? Bring it! Whether you have never built a Lego robot before, or if you are an undisputed master, join our class! Learn to design and drive your own Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot!

Brickmaster Story Builder (GATE) 2^nd-3^rd Grade
Create your own movie using stop-motion technology! Use building blocks, mini-figures and storyboards to create your own story and turn your imagination into a movie.

Design A Video Game (A+) 4^th-5^th Grade

Fun with Emojis (A+) 2^nd-3^rd Grade

NEW CLASS! Everyone loves Emojis! In this class we will focus on commonly used emojis to create stories and mosaics, then invent new emojis. Students will use Chrome and Windows 3D Paint in this class.

Selfie Presentations (A+) 6^th-9^th Grade

NEW CLASS! Learn and use a variety of presentation software to tell your “selfie story”. Take selfies, still shots, video clips and add details to spice up your digital masterpiece. Cell phones welcome!

Michigan Wildlife Adventures (GATE) 3^rd-4^th Grade

Learn about Michigan wildlife from a biologist in this fun, interactive GATE class with live animals. We will cover adaptations, behaviors, predator-prey relationships and more. A field trip to Nature Discovery is included!

Robot Petting Zoo (A+) 2^nd-3^rd Grade

Science – Dissecting Squid (A+) 4^th-5^th Grade

NEW CLASS! Want to know more about the Krusty Krab’s manager, Squidward? Join us in taking a deep dive into squid facts, and pick up those dissection scissors as we open up a squid and take a close look at the ink sac and more!

Water Science (A) 4^th-5^th Grade

NEW CLASS! Anchors Away! Learn interesting properties of water and other liquids. Design and build a boat then use ideas about storing energy to race paddleboats in our first rain gutter regatta.

Writing & Illustrating Graphic Novels (A+) 6^th-9^th Grade

This hands-on course will have you writing, designing and illustrating your own graphic novel! By the end of the four-week session, you will have created your own graphic novel that you will proudly show to relatives and friends.
