Enjoy family fun at Yankee Doodle Days

GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — Rain or shine - Yankee Doodle Days is happening this weekend in Grand Ledge.

It's the 36th annual Yankee Doodle Days taking place from June 20 - June 23 at the Jaycee Park on River Street.

It's a family- friendly event with food and music, fireworks, and even a parade.

The parade starts at 11 a.m. and goes through downtown on Bridge Street. It ends at the fire station.

According to the event website, the Grand Marshals are John and Ethelen Herbstreit who have been part of Grand Ledge since 1968.

Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at dusk.

They will be set off on Island Park, and should be visible from "anywhere in downtown Grand Ledge."

Bridge Street will be closed during the fireworks show so people can watch them from the bridge.

The rain date for the fireworks is June 23.
