LANSING, Mich. — The Lansing Lugnuts have a change coming to their on-field entertainment--the Lugnuts emcee is saying farewell to the team.

Greg Monahan, the soon-to-be former Lugnuts emcee, will be heading west to take on a new job.

Monahan has worked at the on-field host at the Lugnuts for four seasons and over 250 games. From dizzy bat races to potato sack races, it has been a wild ride that he says has brought him an incredible amount of joy.

His last game as emcee came Monday as the Lugnuts took on the cubs.

"If I could say one thing to anyone who's watched me over the four season it's that if I have ever brought a smile to your face, you have done the same to me. This is my favorite job I have worked in my entire life and I will miss this more than any job in my entire life," Monahan said.

The Lugnuts aren't back home for a couple of weeks, but their new on-field host will have a Fox 47 flavor, stay tuned for more details on that in the coming weeks.
