ELPD asking public for help with sexual assault investigation

During the Michigan State Homecoming weekend, the East Lansing Police Department was called to a report of a woman who was assaulted while waiting in line. Now, police are asking the public’s help with their investigation.

According to the department, the assault happened around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 outside of Lou & Harry’s, located at 211 E. Grand River Ave., in downtown East Lansing.

When officers arrived on scene and made contact with the male suspect, he tried to flee the area on foot and was arrested .

Upon further investigation, the female stated that the male sexually assaulted her while waiting in line.

The ELPD is asking for anyone who witnessed the incident that night to contact Det. Chris Shadduck at 517-319-6842.
