LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - More than 700 runners laced up their shoes for a good cause Saturday morning.

It was all part of the Ele's race 5k which helps raise money for all the programs Ele's Place has to offer to grieving kids, teens, and their families.

The 5K was held at the Jackson National Life Insurance headquarters in Lansing.

"There are no charge to the families who attend and utilize Ele's place,” said Kate Powers, Senior Managing Director for Ele’s Place. “Every dollar we raise, we're able to support that many more children and teens."

No word on how much money was raised but organizers say their goal was around $100,000.
