The VFW National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids is getting a facelift, thanks to dozens of volunteers from around the country.

On Friday, the Greener Energy Company and the F4 Foundation teamed up to help spruce up the property.

Volunteers renovated a green house, built picnic tables and garden boxes, and made the home more energy efficient. And organizers say there's always more work to be done.

"I wish more businesses in the area, more people would give back to this place because what they do here is unbelievable," said Steven Fitch, of the F4 Foundation.

"Everything helps no matter how small, how big it is, that somebody wants to contribute or do, it all helps," said Sue Alverson, of the VFW National Home for Children.

This was the group's third time doing service projects at the VFW home.
