LANSING, Mich. — Eaton County Sheriff's deputies grabbed a cup of coffee at Cops & Doughnuts Wednesday morning for National Coffee with a Cop Day.
The event was held in Delta Township and gave people a chance to sit down with law enforcement in a relaxed environment.
Sheriff Tom Reich said it's important for him and his deputies to get out in the community and get to know the people they serve.
"It's a way of reaching out to the community. Cops and Doughnuts is hosting this and it's important that the community knows the police departments and this one here is a sheriff's office. I'm pleased," Sheriff Reich said.
Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wrigglesworth also stopped by to meet with people.
