LANSING, Mich. — If you live in East Lansing and are looking to serve your community--the city is looking for your help.
The city of East Lansing is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on several of its advisory boards and commissions.
Those who are interested in serving the community through active civic engagement are encouraged to apply.
“The City of East Lansing encourages citizen participation at every level of local government. Serving on a board or commission is a tremendous opportunity for citizens to engage in the work of their local government and take part in decisions regarding City policies, development and programs,” said City Manager George Lahanas.
Current openings include the arts commission, the commission on the environment, income tax board of review and the university student commission. The majority of boards and commissions meet monthly and do not require prior experience.
