The East Lansing School Board voted unanimously to put a $98 million bond on the May 2, 2017 ballot.
The money would be used to rebuild Donley, Glencairn, Marble, Pinecrest and Whitehills elementary schools.
Red Cedar Elementary School would be renovated.
The bond would raise property taxes by 1.795 mills, adding $180 to the bill on a home with a taxable value of $100,000.
Construction would take an estimated 15 to 18 months and would be finished by the fall of 2021.
A press release from the school district says the board will keep getting input from the community as it develops construction plans. Fox 47 News will have updates as the plan progresses.
