The East Lansing Police Department is currently investigating two reports of Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) that involves two rideshare drivers.
The ELPD says that the investigation shows similarities between the two cases. In both cases, the victims were female MSU students who were picked up near downtown East Lansing by a rideshare driver, and in both cases the victims reported that the driver made unwelcome sexual advances toward them.
The East Lansing Police Department wants to remind residents that rideshare services do not undergo the same regulatory procedures as regular taxi companies. They encourage people who are using rideshare services to be caution and to consider riding with a friend.
