East Lansing H.S. assistant coach dies following batting practice

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Ed Outslay, a fixture of East Lansing High School baseball died Monday.

The assistant baseball coach died following batting practice.

He was throwing pitches to players on the team prior to a game.

Outslay was 67.

CPR was administered at the scene until emergency personnel arrived.

Outslay was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The East Lansing Baseball team played its scheduled game against Pewamo-Westphalia on Monday, but lost 4-3.
