With more cold weather settling in, there will be more people back out on the ice in mid-Michigan.
So it's a good thing East Lansing firefighters practiced ice rescues on Wednesday.
They were working on a frozen pond on the grounds of MSU Federal Credit Union.
Firefighters say you shouldn't be on the ice unless it's at least four-inches thick, and even then you need to be prepared.
