An early morning crash shut down Interstate 96 westbound early Friday morning.
The accident happened around midnight on WB I-96 at M-59 Exit 133 in Livingston County. That is just west of the Tanger Outlet Mall in Howell.
We are working on getting details from Livingston County, but FOX 47 News crews on scene of the crash, say it appears the accident involved one vehicle. Eyewitnesses say the roof of the car was torn off. No word on the condition of the driver.
Howell Fire Department, The Livingston County Medical Examiner and Sheriff deputies all responded. I-96 WB was shut down for several hours this morning with traffic diverted off the highway at M-59. The scene has been cleared, and the highway is open.
