LANSING, Mich. — A woman fighting cancer is suing the state of Michigan over the delay in getting medical marijuana applications processed.

Sherry Hoover is asking a federal court to order the state to allow pot shops to sell marijuana that has not been tested by a licensed facility.

The problem is there are only four licensed testing facilities in Michigan and they can't keep up with the approximately 300,000 medical marijuana patients who need it.

Hoover uses marijuana to relieve the side effects of chemotherapy. Her lawsuit is asking that the court get involved until the state can license more testing facilities.
